Who it is for
Application operators and data stewards planning scoped backup, restore, and recovery verification.
Proposed roadmap application
Encrypted snapshots, portability, corruption detection, restore, and recovery verification.
Proposed roadmap application; name and implementation remain under review.
Why it is planned
Application operators and data stewards planning scoped backup, restore, and recovery verification.
Before a significant update, an operator wants a bounded snapshot and a tested path for restoring selected application data.
Could improve recoverability and portability while keeping dataset selection and key ownership explicit.
Intended workflow
This describes the planned experience. It does not establish that these capabilities are available.
Select the approved dataset, retention rule, destination, and key-ownership arrangement.
Create the planned encrypted snapshot and check its recorded integrity.
Perform an operator-approved test restore and record the verified scope and result.
Scope and relationships
Would include only datasets declared by participating product contracts and their backup metadata; it would not capture all device data, manage passwords, or assume signing authority.
Vault would preserve and restore approved data; Guard would detect endpoint drift and prepare remediation proposals.
